charactercounthub.com is free to use and always will be. This page explains how the site pays for itself and what that does — and does not — mean for what you read here.
How This Site Makes Money
Our income comes from display advertising. Ad networks, principally Google AdSense, place advertisements around our content and pay us based on impressions and clicks.
That revenue covers hosting, the domain, and the time spent building and maintaining the tools. Without it, the tools would need a paywall or a sign-up form, and we would rather not do either.
We Do Not Choose the Ads
Individual advertisements are selected automatically by advertising networks based on page content and, where permitted, the visitor’s browsing history. We do not review or approve each ad before it appears.
The appearance of an advertisement on this site is not an endorsement. We have no relationship with the advertiser and cannot vouch for their products, claims or service.
Where Ads Appear
We place ads around our content — above, below, and alongside it. We do not place ads inside a tool where they would interfere with typing, reading a count, or copying your result.
Affiliate Links
Some pages may contain affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.
Where an affiliate link appears, it is disclosed on that page. We only link to products we would be willing to recommend regardless of commission, and a commission never buys a positive mention.
Advertising Does Not Influence Our Content
This is the part that matters most. Advertisers and ad networks have no say in:
- What we publish or which platforms we cover
- The character limits and figures we report
- How our tools calculate or behave
- Whether we criticise a product or platform
We do not accept payment to publish a review, to change a verdict, or to insert a link into existing content. We do not publish sponsored posts or sell links. If that ever changes, this page will be updated first and the arrangement will be disclosed on the page in question.
Cookies and Personalised Advertising
Advertising networks use cookies to measure performance and, in some cases, to show you ads based on your previous browsing. Our Cookie Policy explains these cookies, and our Privacy Policy explains how to opt out of personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings and the industry opt-out pages.
Your Choices
You are free to use an ad blocker. Our tools work exactly the same with one enabled, and we will not ask you to turn it off or block access if you use one.
